LDPE
Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is one of the most common types of polyethylene used in various applications. It is characterized by its low density, which results from its highly branched molecular structure.
Key Properties
- Flexibility: LDPE is highly flexible and can be easily molded into various shapes. This makes it ideal for applications that require a pliable material.
- Chemical Resistance: It resists a wide range of chemicals, including acids and bases, although it may not be as resistant to certain solvents.
- Low Density: Due to its branched structure, LDPE has a lower density compared to other types of polyethylene, which affects its mechanical properties and makes it less rigid.
- Low Melting Point: LDPE has a melting point of around 105-115°C (221-239°F), which allows it to be processed at relatively low temperatures.

- Packaging: Used in plastic bags, shrink wraps, and film. Its flexibility and durability make it suitable for these uses.
- Containers: Often used for bottles, containers, and various household items due to its resistance to impact and chemicals.
